2026 Arkansas-Monticello Weevils Roster | GAC Volleyball

MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team (2-17, 0-7 GAC) is preparing for a three-match week, beginning with a non-conference contest against the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith on Monday, October 5. The Weevils will then return home to Steelman Field House for a pair of Great American Conference matchups. UAM will first welcome the Crimson Storm of Southern Nazarene University on Thursday, October 8, at 4:00 p.m. Arkansas-Monticello will close out the week on Friday, October 9, against Oklahoma Baptist University for Breast Cancer Awareness Night, with first serve set for 4:00 p.m. 

 

All-TIME SERIES
Arkansas-Fort Smith - 
This is the 10th meeting between the Weevils and the Lions. Arkansas-Fort Smith leads the series, 8-1. In the last meeting on September 1st at home, UAM lost 3-0 (18-25, 16-25, 17-25). The Weevils last beat the Lions on October 26, 2021, with a 3-2 victory in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. At home, the Weevils trail 0-3. Away, they are behind 0-4.

Southern Nazarene University - This is the 15th meeting between the Weevils and the Crimson Storm. Southern Nazarene leads the series, 14-0. In the last meeting on October in Bethany, UAM lost 3-0 (14-25, 13-25, 22-25). At home, the Weevils trail 0-6. Away, they are behind 0-7. Their conference record is 0-13.

Oklahoma Baptist University - This is the 11th meeting between the Weevils and the Bison. Oklahoma Baptist leads the series, 1-9. In the last meeting on October 17th, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, UAM lost 3-0 (16-25, 16-25, 23-25). The Weevils last beat the Bison on October 14, 2016, with a 3-2 victory in Shawnee, Oklahoma. At home, the Blossoms trail 0-5. Away, they are behind 1-4. Their conference record is 1-9.

LAST MEETING
Arkansas-Fort Smith -
 The two teams traded points throughout the opening set, with Arkansas-Monticello holding several early advantages behind kills from Sophia Grubbs, Summer Stephens, and Isabella Garcia. Arkansas-Fort Smith began to create separation, using a 5-1 run to take a 17-13 advantage. UAM pulled within three at 19-16, but the Lions answered with five straight points to move ahead 24-16, eventually closing the set, 25-18. UAFS opened the second set with a 4-1 advantage, but the Weevils gradually worked their way back. The Lions responded by taking three of the next four points before UAM cut the deficit to 15-14 following a block from Kylie Miller and Evalyn Dang. Arkansas-Fort Smith then scored six consecutive points to build a 21-14 advantage. Garcia added two late kills for the Weevils, but UAFS closed out the frame, 25-16. Arkansas-Monticello came out strong in the third set, opening with kills from Garcia, Grubbs, and Scroggins before an ace from Maelie Cooke gave the Weevils a 4-1 lead. A 7-1 stretch from the Lions pushed UAFS ahead 8-5. Kyonias Chambers grabbed an ace, followed by kills from Garcia and Stephens, helping the Weevils draw even at 12-12. The Lions eventually pushed on to take the set, 25-17, and the match, 3-0. UAM was held to a .029 hitting percentage on 75 digs, 26 assists, 1 blocks, 3 aces, and 26 kills

Southern Nazarene University - The opening set began evenly matched as Arkansas-Monticello and Southern Nazarene exchanged points back-and-forth, bringing the set to 11-9 in favor of the Crimson Storm. The Weevil's momentum faltered as the Crimson Storm's offense pulled ahead, extending their lead to 22-12. UAM could only manage two more points before SNU won the first set, 25-14. Arkansas-Monticello fell behind to the Crimson Storm early in the second set, 12-5. The Weevils were unable to find their rhythm as Southern Nazarene took complete control of the remainder of the set, extending their lead to 21-10. The Crimson Storm eventually took the set, 25-13, and lead the series, 2-0. UAM saw themselves with an early advantage in the third set, however Southern Nazarene quickly returned five unanswered points to claim the lead. The Weevils responded with some momentum to bring the set within two points, 12-10. UAM and the Crimson Storm battled for points back-and-forth, however the last-minute rally by UAM proved unsuccessful as SNU took the final set, 25-20, and the match, 3-0. UAM was held to a .047 hitting percentage on 41 digs, 24 assists, 1 blocks, 4 aces, and 26 kills

Oklahoma Baptist University - The opening set began with Oklahoma Baptist taking a commanding 6-0 lead over Arkansas-Monticello. The Bison's offense remained in control of the set, pulling ahead to extend their lead to 15-6. The Weevils fought to catch up with the Bison, exchanging points back-and-forth, but UAM came up short as OBU took the first set, 25-16. Arkansas-Monticello saw themselves down early in the second set, 12-5, however, five consecutive points from the Weevils would see them bring the set within two, 12-10. The two teams battled back-and-forth for points, with the Bison keeping their edge over the Weevils, 18-15. Oklahoma Baptist pulled away from UAM, scoring seven more points over the next eight serves to take the set, 25-16. The third set looked to be similar to the second with the Weevils starting behind in the scoreboard, 7-3, however, Arkansas-Monticello quickly responded to cut the deficit to just one point, 11-10. The Bison took back control, giving themselves a six point advantage, 23-17. The Weevils returned five unanswered points to hold off the Bison, but their last-minute rally was not enough as OBU took the final set, 25-23, and the match, 3-0. UAM was held to a .210 hitting percentage on 49 digs, 36 assists, 0 blocks, 1 aces, and 36 kills.

LAST TIME OUT THIS SEASON
The Weevils went 0-3 last time out, falling to the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma State in three sets (14-25, 14-25, 19-25) in Durant, Oklahoma on Friday, October 2, 2026.
