MONTICELLO, Ark. - The Arkansas-Monticello women's basketball team is prepping for the final week of GAC Regular Season play, splitting the week between Monticello and Arkadelphia, Arkansas. The Cotton Blossoms will kick the final week off in Monticello on Thursday, February 27 taking on the Lady Bisons of Harding University at 5:30 p.m. for senior night, before heading to Arkadelphia on Saturday, March 1 to match up with the Tigers of Ouachita Baptist University at 1:00 p.m.

Senior Day:Â Â Thursday evening upon the completion of the women's game the seniors from both the Cotton Blossoms and Boll Weevils basketball teams will be honored at center court.
Student Halftime Event (Men's Game):Â During halftime of the men's game, one student will be drawn from entries this season for the opportunity to shoot a half-court shot for $10,000 courtesy of UAM Athletics Sponsor Union Bank. Students can sign up for their name to be called during both the men's and women's games until halftime.

LAST MEETING
Harding University - The Lady Bisons took down the Blossoms in the last meeting, 61-84.
Bailey Harris led the way for Arkansas-Monticello scoring 21 points in the match-up. Harris hit 9-16 field goals on the day, 1-2 on three-pointers, and 2-2 from the free throw line. She also contributed four rebounds in her 31 minutes played, with two defensive two offensive, and two rebounds.
Alindsey Long followed close behind on the afternoon, posting 19 points of her own. Long went 8-10 on field goals and 3-3 from beyond the arc, with one rebound and one block. Arkansas-Monticello committed 19 turnovers in the entirety of the match.
Ouachita Baptist University - The Cotton Blossoms upset the Tigers in overtime in the last meeting, 76-69.
Kelsey Blakemore led the way for Arkansas-Monticello scoring 21 points in the match-up. Blakemore hit 7-10 field goals on the day, 3-5 on three-pointers, and 4-4 from the free throw line. She also contributed five rebounds in her 36 minutes played, with four defensive and one offensive. She grabbed three assists, one block, and one steal on the afternoon.Â
Kennedee Shelton followed close behind on the afternoon, posting 19 points of her own. Shelton went 5-8 on field goals, 1-2 from beyond the arc, and 8-10 from the free throw line. She also contributed ten rebounds, three assists, and a steal.
Bailey Harris was the final Blossom in double-digits, with 17 points in the game. Harris was 6-15 in field goals and 5-9 on free throws with two rebounds and one assist.  Arkansas-Monticello committed 9 turnovers in the entirety of the match.
ALL-TIME SERIES
Harding University -Â Arkansas-Monticello trails the Lady Bisons in the record 32-50. Both teams first met in the 1984-85 season with the Blossoms taking the first 4 victories, starting with a commanding 84-39 win. The largest margin of victory came in the 1988-89 season with a 98-39 win. The Cotton Blossoms are currently in a drought having lost the last nine meetings, half of the longest drought that they had faced between 1/19/2013 and 2/7/2019. With a win on Thursday, Feb. 27Â Â it will claim the first victory over Harding for Coach Midlick, and an end to the drought. Combined through 82 games played the green and white have recorded 5,630 points, averaging 68.66 points per game.
Ouachita Baptist University - The Cottom Blossoms currently lead the Tigers with an overall record of 52-40, dating back to their first meeting on February 5, 1976. UAM would win 11 straight meetings between 2/5/1976 and 2/3/1981. The largest margin of victory for the Blossoms over OBU came in the spring of 1990 with a final score of 120-60. Home in Monticello the Blossoms are 34-19, while on the road they are 18-24. Through 92 games played the ladies in green and white have scored 6,767 points against the Tigers, averaging 73.55 points per game.Â
