MONTICELLO, Ark. - The Arkansas-Monticello Women's Basketball team returns to Steelman Fieldhouse to face the Lady Bulldogs of Southwestern Oklahoma State University and the Lady Rangers of Northwestern Oklahoma State University. This week's games have been flexed due to forecasted inclement weather, the Blossoms will now face the Lady Bulldogs on Friday, February 21 at 5:30 p.m., and the Lady Rangers on Sunday, February 23 at 1:00 p.m.

"We are excited to be able to play at home this week," said Head Coach David Midlick. "We will be playing two very talented well coached teams."

LAST MEETING
Southwestern Oklahoma State University - The Lady Bulldogs proved to be the winners in the last meeting in January, 63-48. Bailey Harris led the way for Arkansas-Monticello, scoring 17 points in the match-up. Harris hit 8-21 field goals on the day, 1-3, and 1-2 free throws. She also contributed four rebounds in her 36 minutes played, with three defensive and one offensive. Alyssa Batton and Camille Pritchard both followed on the afternoon, posting 8points of her own. Batton went 2-5  on field goals, 2-3 on three-pointers, and 2-4  on free throws with two rebounds. Pritchard went 3-5 on field goals, and 1-2 on both three-pointers and free throws, with five defensive rebounds. Arkansas-Monticello committed 11 turnovers in the entirety of the match.

Northwestern Oklahoma State University - The Lady Rangers took the last meeting in January by a score of, 57-74. Bailey Harris and Camielle Pritchard led the way for Arkansas-Monticello, scoring 10 points each in the match-up, respectively. Harris hit 4-8 field goals on the day and 2-4 free throws. She also contributed seven rebounds in her 31 minutes played, with four defensive and three offensive. She grabbed four assists and two steals. Pritchard hit 4-8 field goals on the day, 1-2 three-pointers, and 1-2 free throws. She also contributed three rebounds in her 9 minutes played, with one defensive and two offensive. Arkansas-Monticello committed 20 turnovers in the entirety of the match.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Southwestern Oklahoma State University - The Bulldogs hold a strong advantage in the overall record leading UAM, 27-5. This record dates back to the first meeting on November 11, 1987. The Blossoms played six neutral site games against the Bulldogs, before the first GAC match in January of 2012, dropping every match. The first of the wins for UAM came in December of 2015 when the Blossoms beat the Bulldogs by three points, 74-71. Home in Monticello the record is 3-9, while in Weatherford the record for UAM stands at 1-12. The Blossoms are averaging 64.84 points per game, on 2,075 points through 32 games played.

Northwestern Oklahoma State University - The Cotton Blossoms trail the Lady Rangers in the record, 11-14, dating back to the first match-up in March of 1978. UAM and NWOSU met two times before joining the GAC, with the Blossoms taking both wins on the road in neutral-site games. The first GAC game would be taken by the Lady Rangers, however, 46-63. The Cotton Blossoms hold a 7-4 record at home in Monticello, with a 2-10 record on the road in Alva. The largest margin of victory for the ladies in green and white came in December of 2015, beating NWOSU, 81-62. Through 25 games played the Blossoms are averaging 63.84 points on 1,596 points scored.

LAST TIME OUT FOR UAM
  • UAM went 1-1 last week, dropping a 72-62 match to the Muleriders of Southern Arkansas University on Thursday, Feb.13, before winning over the Reddies of Henderson State University on Saturday, Feb. 15, 70-53.
