ATHENS, Ala. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello men's golf team sits fourth out of 10 teams at the end of day one at the Bulldog Bash Monday. The event is being hosted by Union University at the Canebrake Golf Club in Athens, Alabama.
UAM shot 296 as a team through one round before play was suspended in the second round due to darkness.
Andrew Pearson was the top player for the Weevils through the first round posting a 72 (E) to land tied for seventh.
Tyler Quinn and William Sumner followed shooting 73 (+1) and 74 (+2) placing them tied for 15th and 19th, respectively.
The next finisher for UAM was Carson Garner who is tied for 36th after recording an opening round of 77 (+5).
T.J. Baker rounds out the group for the Weevils on day one shooting a 79 (+7) to land tied at 45th.
A pair of Blossoms are participating in the tournament as well as individuals. Emilie Bergh-Jacobsen shot an 80 (+8) in the first round to sit tied for 16th. Shehna Akbary is tied for 28th after posting an 82 (+10) through one round.
The Weevils will be back on the course Tuesday to finish round two before playing the third and final round of the event.
