MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team's opening weekend series against Delta State has been canceled due to weather, head coach John Harvey announced Thursday.

UAM was scheduled to battle the Statesmen at Weevils Field in a three-game series Friday and Saturday, Feb. 12-13. The series will be rescheduled as midweek games. UAM will host Delta State March 9 and April 20 while visiting the Statesmen March 16. 

UAM will now open the 2021 season on the road against Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Okla. The three-game series will begin Friday, Feb. 19 and wrap up with a double-header Saturday, Feb. 20.

The Weevils home midweek matchup Tuesday, Feb. 23 against the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith has also been canceled. UAM will now host the Lions on April 6 instead making the trip to Fort Smith, Ark.
