Softball Drops Doubleheader to Open SWOSU Series

Scoring Recap:
All but one run scored in the game came off the bats of the Bulldogs. SWOSU added the first five runs in the second inning off a fielder's choice, a triple to right field, and a single up the middle. The final run of the contest came in the sixth off a single to right field.

Pitching Performances
- Kayla Olthouse started in the circle for the Blossoms, allowing five runs on seven hits, while striking out two batters, to take the loss.
- Kyleigh Benton pitched the remaining two innings, allowing one run on four hits with one strikeout.

Scoring Recap:
The Blossoms were first on the board as Dacia Sexton singled to second base to score Madelyn Willard. 

Heading into the fifth, Arkansas-Monticello made it 2-0 as Makenzie Martin doubled down the left field line to plate Kylie Bonicelli.

The Bulldogs tied things up in their half of the fifth off a UAM error, as well as a single to left field.

SWOSU took game two in the sixth with a single up the middle, holding UAM scoreless in the seventh to win 3-2.

Pitching Performances
- Makenzie Martin pitched all 6.0 innings and earned the loss, in the circle, allowing three runs on nine hits with six strikeouts.

Offensive Showcase
- Makenzie Martin - 1-for-3 with 1 RBI and 1 SB.
- Dacia Sexton - 1-for-3 with 1 RBI.
- Madelyn Willard - 1-for-3 with 1 run scored.
