MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello Boll Weevil baseball team hosted Arkansas Tech University for the 2026 home opener at Weevils Field at Union Bank Park. The Weevils kicked off the home opener with a run, but fell to the Wonder Boys, by a final score of 5-2.

Scoring Recap:
Arkansas-Monticello was first on the board in the home opener as Elijah Olaybal homered to left center to kick things off.

Arkansas Tech University scored their first run of the game in the top of third off a ground out run in.

The Weevils final run of the game came off the bat of Gabe Kuttenkuler as he homered to left field.

The Wonder Boys would put four more runs on the board, one in the seventh and three in the eighth to win the game 5-2.

Pitching Performances:
- Bryce Louis started on the mound for the Weevils, in his 3 innings on the mound he allowed one run on one hit, facing 13 batters.
- Alberto Oropeza was called to start the 4th and faced seven batters.
- Bryce McGuire suffered the set back on the mound, in his 1.2 innings pitched he allowed one run on one hit, striking out one batter in his seven faced.
- John White was called in to pitch the remainder of the 7th and the 8th. In his 1.1 inning he faced eight batters, allowing three runs on three hits, striking out one.
- Nathan McManus closed the game for the Weevils pitching the ninth inning, facing four batters.

Arkansas-Monticello will head to Oklahoma to open conference play at Southern Nazarene University. The three game series will commence with a 12:00 p.m. DH with the Crimson Storm on Sunday, February 15.
