EL DORADO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's golf team kicked off their Spring season at the Arkansas Collegiate at the Mystic Creek Golf Club, hosted by Southern Arkansas University, on Monday afternoon. The Blossoms finished the first round in sixth place with a team combined score of 40-over par (328).
Shehna Akbary led the Blossoms finishing the day in third place after firing a 2-over par (74).
Finishing tied for 19th with a score of 82 (+10)Â was
Tori Milton.
Next up for the Blossoms were
Natalie Van Dort and
Ximena Paz who finished tied for 37th, 14-over par (86).
Rounding out UAM in the main tournament was
Robbi Jo Freeman who finished tied for 48th after carding 25-over par (97).Â
Competing individually for Arkansas-Monticello were
Cadee Glasgow and
Renata Abad. Glasgow finished tied for 48th after putting up a 97Â (+25), while Abad finished in 53rd with a final score of 33-over par (105).
Combined the Blossoms recorded 12 birdies with Shehna carding five of them herself.
The Blossoms will play their final round of the tournament on Tuesday, March 11th.
