Women's Basketball Prevail in Comeback Win Over Lady Rangers

MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello Women's Basketball team welcomed the Lady Rangers of Northwestern Oklahoma State Univeristy to Steelman Fieldhouse Sunday afternoon, in the last Oklahoma meeting of the year. The Blossoms claimed victory with a 57-52 win over the Lady Rangers.

Kelsey Blakemore led the way for Arkansas-Monticello (11-15, 6-14 GAC) with 14 points on the afternoon. Blakemore was 5-8 on total field goals, going 1-1 from distance. She was also 3-3 from the free throw line while contributing five rebounds, five assists, and two steals in her 34 minutes on the court.

Bailey Harris followed close behind in, posting 12 points of her own on the afternoon. Harris hit 5-16 field goals, 1-9 three-pointers, and 1-2 free throws while grabbing one rebound, four assists, and three steals.

Camille Pritchard was the other Blossom in double-digits, scoring 11 points. Pritchard went 4-6 on field goals, 1-3 on threes, and 2-2 on free throws with three rebounds.

Northwestern Oklahoma (13-13, 10-10 GAC) was led by Carly Craig with 14 points.

The first half of the game was a battle throughout its entirety. A three-pointer at the buzzer by Kelsey Blakemore put the Blossoms on top at the end of the first quarter, 17-14. The Lady Rangers fought back in the second quarter to outscore the Blossoms, 18-14. The teams would head to the locker room at the half with the Blossoms trailing, 32-31.

Northwestern Oklahoma came out from the half to win the third quarter, outscoring the Blossoms 13-7. Arkansas-Monticello flipped the script in the final 10 minutes scoring 19 points while holding the Lady Rangers to single-digits. In the final seconds of the game, a three-pointer by Alindsey Long put the Blossoms ahead to secure the win over Northwestern Oklahoma, 57-52.

Arkansas-Monticello committed 12 turnovers in the entirety of the match.

The Blossoms will take the court for the final home game of the season on Thursday, February 27, as they welcome the Lady Bisons of Harding University with tip-off at 1:00 p.m. inside Steelman Fieldhouse. Upon the completion of the game, our 2024-25 seniors will be recognized at half-court.
