MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello Athletics Department is overjoyed to announce the return of the Athletics Auction Fundraiser.
The auction has been a staple for UAM Athletics, seeing massive success in recent years in benefiting over 300 student-athletes competing in 10 different sports. Similar to last year, this year's auction will be held in McGehee, Arkansas at the McGehee Men's Club Community Center.
"This auction is our biggest fundraiser that we have during the year," said UAM Athletic Director Hud Jackson.
"We are able to do so much for all of our teams with the money that we make from it. We hope we can get a huge crowd to come and bid on some really nice items at this year's auction. It's a great way to spend a Friday night! Great food, great music, and for a great cause. We really hope to see you there!"
This year's auction will be held on Friday, March 14, a later date than usual, but will still offer all of the same benefits as in years past. Among the benefits of attending include happy hour from 6-7, live and silent auctions with many different items, live music, dinner, and raffle prizes.
A three-course meal will be provided for the attendees, including a shrimp appetizer, brisket (sliced and chopped), smoked turkey, baked beans, coleslaw, and potato salad main course, followed by a banana pudding dessert.
There will be a large assortment of silent auction items on display and available throughout the opening of the event. The UAM Athletic Auction has typically seen an assortment of sports memorabilia, various hunting trips, event tickets, outdoorsmen gear, grills, smokers, fire pits, golf equipment and trips, and more throughout the years.
