MONTICELLO, Ark. – Each week the Weekly Weevil Write Up takes a closer look at what's in store for the University of Arkansas at Monticello in the coming days.
The UAM men's and women's basketball teams continue Great American Conference play this week - including their first two road trips.
Men's Basketball
Full Schedule
UAM opened league play with a victory last Thursday over Arkansas Tech. Denzel McDuffey had 17 points to lead the way in the Weevils 78-65 defeat of the Wonder Boys.
The Weevils (2-0) start the week traveling to Southern Arkansas (2-0) on Monday night at 7:30 p.m.
At 7:30 p.m. Thursday, UAM will face Ouachita Baptist (0-2) in the friendly confines of Steelman Field House.
On Saturday afternoon, the Weevils will wrap up the week on the road against Henderson State (1-1) for a 4:00 p.m. contest.
Women's Basketball
Full Schedule
The Blossoms split a pair of GAC games last week, falling on Thursday night to Arkansas Tech and topping Harding University on Saturday. Mackenzie Tillman led all scorers in the Blossom's 76-71 victory over Harding with 22 points.
UAM (1-1) will travel to Southern Arkansas (0-1) for a 5:30 p.m. tip off Monday night.
At 2 p.m. Saturday, the Blossoms will visit Henderson State (1-1) at the Duke Wells Center.
