RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball player Brian Ray has been selected as the Great American Conference Player of the Week for the second straight week, after leading the Weevils to a 4-0 record. 

Brian, a junior, finished with a .500 batting average for the week, and added three home-runs, six RBIs, and five total runs scored. 

The Crossett, Arkansas native started off the week with a two home-run performance against Harding at Weevils field and finished 3-for-4 in that match-up.

Ray then followed up with yet another three-hit day in the opening series game against Southern Nazarene, going 3-for-5 with one home-run and two RBIs. He then finished the series out going a combined 3-for-9 with two RBIs.

The Weevils will return to action Wednesday, March 8, as UAM will host non-conference foe Mississippi College at Weevils Field with first pitch set for 2 p.m.
